About the role
Required Education/Experience Bachelor's Degree Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Environmental, Industrial, Sustainability, or related) and Minimum 5 years' work experience Engineering or energy efficiency focused
Preferred Education/Experience Master's Degree Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Environmental, Industrial, Sustainability, or related) and Minimum 3 years work experience Engineering or energy efficiency focused
Relevant Work Experience Familiarity with NYS Technical Resource Manual (TRM) and energy codes (ASHRAE, IECC), required. Proficiency in energy modeling, bin analysis, and complex calculations, required. Strong technical knowledge of building envelope and building systems (HVAC (chillers, boilers, heat pumps, AHUs), motors/VFDs, and Building Management Systems (BMS)), required. Experience with technical reviews and energy analyses of projects, required. Experience with project management, including coordinating scope, schedule, and deliverables across multiple stakeholders, required. Experience with complex energy modeling simulation software, such as eQUEST, DOE 2 (DOE 2.1E and DOE 2.2), Trane TRACE 3D Plus, OpenStudio, TREAT, NEO, IES VE, and Carrier HAP, preferred.
Skills and Abilities Must be proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, etc. Demonstrated problem solving skills Demonstrated analytical skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to simultaneously handle multiple priorities Possesses flexibility to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment
Licenses and Certifications Driver's License Required Professional Engineer (PE) Preferred Other: Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification Preferred
Additional Physical Demands The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
