We are seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer (Contractor) with strong expertise in AWS migration projects and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) automation. This role is a 6_month engagement focused on executing a “lift_and_shift” migration from Azure to AWS, followed by stabilization and operational readiness. The engineer will also design and automate deployments using Terraform and GitHub/DevOps pipelines.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer (Contractor) with strong expertise in AWS migration projects and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) automation. This role is a 6_month engagement focused on executing a “lift_and_shift” migration from Azure to AWS, followed by stabilization and operational readiness. The engineer will also design and automate deployments using Terraform and GitHub/DevOps pipelines .

Key Responsibilities Migration Execution Assist in migrating ProductionClone and Production environments from Azure to AWS.

Implement AWS Application Migration Service (MGN) and AWS Database Migration Service (DMS).

Support pilot migration (ProdClone) and full production migration.

Infrastructure & Networking Validate and extend AWS Landing Zone (Control Tower, guardrails, SCPs).

Design and configure AWS VPC architecture, ingress/egress, and connectivity (VPN/Direct Connect).

Support DNS strategy (Route 53 vs Azure DNS coexistence).

Application & Compute Collaborate with application teams to identify dependencies and shared services.

Deploy workloads using EC2 Auto Scaling Groups; support ECS/EKS if containerized.

Define AMI, patching, and configuration management approach.

Data & Database Migration Execute backup/restore and CDC-based migrations using AWS DMS.

Support RDS/Aurora migrations and ensure data validation/reconciliation.

Security & Compliance Implement IAM least-privilege roles, secrets management, and encryption.

Configure GuardDuty, Security Hub, and compliance mapping from Azure to AWS.

Operations & Support Set up monitoring/logging (CloudWatch, alarms).

Define backup, disaster recovery, and incident response processes.

Contribute to runbook templates and operational handover.

Infrastructure as Code (IaC) & DevOps Automate AWS resource provisioning using Terraform .

Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions or equivalent DevOps tools.

Ensure repeatable, version-controlled deployments for infrastructure and applications.

Collaborate with DevOps teams to integrate IaC into migration factory workflows.

Required Skills & Experience Proven experience in AWS cloud infrastructure and migration projects.

Hands-on expertise with: AWS Control Tower, IAM Identity Center

VPC design, ALB/NLB, WAF

AWS MGN, AWS DMS, RDS/Aurora

CloudWatch, GuardDuty, Security Hub

Strong knowledge of Terraform for IaC automation.

Experience with GitHub/DevOps CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and application deployment.

Familiarity with Azure-to-AWS connectivity and hybrid DNS strategies.

Knowledge of lift-and-shift migration methodology and modernization planning.

Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect / SysOps Administrator / Database Specialty.

• Experience with multi-account AWS strategies and enterprise guardrails.

• Exposure to global delivery models (US, India).
