About the role
As a Staff Engineer in Test at DDN Storage, you will be part of Infinia - Cloud Control Plane, contributing to the design, development, and delivery of core components for the software-defined storage platform. Your role will involve collaborating with various teams to build high-quality, scalable solutions to support AI workloads efficiently. Key Responsibilities: - Design, develop, test, and maintain software components for scalable storage solutions. - Contribute to the implementation of distributed systems with a focus on reliability, performance, and availability. - Participate in design discussions, offering technical input. - Write high-quality, maintainable, and well-tested code. - Conduct code reviews and adhere to engineering best practices. - Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across the stack. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support product delivery. - Work closely with program management to meet release milestones. - Contribute to technical documentation. - Provide updates on project progress and deliverables. - Support continuous improvement of engineering processes and system performance. - Travel occasionally for team meetings or training. Qualifications Required: - BS/MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or related field (or equivalent experience). - 10+ years of software development experience. - Strong programming skills in C/C++, particularly in Linux/UNIX environments. - Experience with distributed systems, multithreading, and concurrency. - Solid understanding of file systems and server architectures. - Proven ability to deliver production-quality software. - Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills. Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with scale-out or high-availability storage systems. - Familiarity with parallel file systems such as Lustre or GPFS. - Exposure to NVMe or modern storage technologies. - Experience debugging system-level issues.
