Role Overview: At EY, as a Manager Data Science, you will be managing a team of data analysts and newer data scientists responsible for a portfolio of diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive analytics projects to support data-driven business decision making. You will play a crucial role in supporting the continuous evolution and strategy of data science capabilities within the organization. Key Responsibilities: - Hires, evaluates, and supervises crew, providing guidance and training as necessary to develop the team. - Oversees and engages in deep dive diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive analytics to support data-driven business decision making. - Manages a team responsible for a portfolio of analytics projects, supporting data-driven decision making and evolving data science capabilities. - Identifies and diagnoses data inconsistencies and errors, documents data assumptions, and fills data gaps. - Engages with internal stakeholders to understand business processes, develop hypotheses, and translate requirements into an analytic approach. - Guides test design, research design, and model validation, providing statistical consultation services. - Executes operational plans, collaborates with department heads, and prepares insight presentations and action recommendations. - Designs data mining architectures, analytical protocols, and statistical reporting methods to identify actionable trends in large datasets. - Applies advanced data science principles and technologies to develop models informing strategic decisions across various functions. Qualifications Required: - Minimum 8 years of experience in analytical roles with team leadership responsibilities. - Bachelor's degree in Analytics, Applied Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field; Master's degree preferred. - Proficiency in data wrangling, statistical modeling using programming languages (e.g., Python, R, SQL), and machine learning techniques. - Experience in exploratory data analysis and evaluating model performance in development and production settings.
