The team is building next-generation active mobility products with a strong focus on safety, intelligent design and advanced rider-assist systems. The company aims to redefine premium urban mobility for Indias next generation of riders, with a sharp focus on HNIs, urban professionals, corporate fleets and luxury lifestyle segments. Role Overview Role focused on Supabase backend, secure marketplace workflows, admin operations, order flow and multi-region e-commerce foundations. Role Purpose The Backend / Full-Stack Development Engineer will support the database, authentication, order, inventory and admin workflows required to operate Dock-y as a secure premium marketplace. The role will help implement Supabase tables, Row Level Security, database triggers, admin access, order creation logic, product data models, and future-ready multi-region pricing/stock structures. The Engineer will work under the CTO and must treat security, data correctness and maintainability as core responsibilities. Key Responsibilities Database Schema Implementation: Create and maintain production-ready Supabase/PostgreSQL tables for customer profiles, addresses, products, product categories, orders, order items, promotional banners, SKU data, and localized regional pricing/stock. Authentication & Session Management: Implement secure Supabase Auth workflows for sign-up/sign-in, identity management, profile auto-creation via database triggers, and auth-gated checkout and admin routes. RLS and Access Control: Enforce ironclad PostgreSQL Row Level Security (RLS) policies to isolate customer data (profiles, addresses, orders) while granting granular management access to admins for products, inventory, and banners. Order Workflow Engineering: Build resilient, race-condition-free order creation logic, including cart-to-order conversion, secure address snapshotting, payment method capture, order notes, and itemized cost breakdowns. Inventory and SKU support: Add SKU management, stock fields, product metadata, admin editing flows and stock checks before order confirmation/reservation. Admin backend operations: Support product CRUD, stock/pricing updates, promotional banner management and admin-only permissions. Multi-region readiness: Help design and implement structures for India and UK/EU pricing, currency, tax, inventory and market-specific product availability from a single admin system. Image/storage integration: Support image upload paths, storage bucket permissions, product image URLs and migration from Supabase Storage to Cloudflare R2 or S3 if required. Security Hardening: Regularly audit API routes and server actions for rigorous authorization checks, secure environment variable handling, safe payment placeholder management, and complete isolation of service-role keys from client-side execution. Testing and documentation: Write setup notes, migration instructions, sample data, test scenarios and admin workflow documentation. Required Qualifications Educational Background: A completed degree or diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, Data Engineering, or a related technical field is required. Professional SQL Expertise: Candidates must possess a proven track record of designing, querying, and optimizing relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL) in commercial environments. Core Backend Competency: We require deep professional experience building secure, scalable APIs, implementing token-based authentication, and handling complex database-driven application logic. Architectural Reasoning: The engineer must demonstrate a strong ability to reason through data normalization, relational integrity, strict permission boundaries, and distributed edge cases. Technical Documentation: Strong written communication skills are necessary for writing clear database migration paths, setup instructions, and engineering documentation. Preferred Experience Full-Stack/Backend Stack: Direct experience building and deploying production-grade applications using Supabase, PostgreSQL, or specialized BaaS providers is highly valued. Modern JavaScript Ecosystem: Candidates should possess hands-on professional experience with Next.js, TypeScript, Node.js, and server-side runtimes. E-Commerce Domain Knowledge: Prior experience building core transactional systemsincluding product catalogs, category hierarchies, inventory tracking, order management systems (OMS), and checkout flows is strongly preferred. Cloud Infrastructure: Familiarity deploying and managing applications on platforms like Vercel, Cloudflare, AWS, or similar cloud providers is an advantage. Payment Gateway Integration: Practical experience integrating and securing payment networks such as Razorpay, Stripe, or similar processors will be required. Why Join DOCK-Y Work on a premium mobility brand with India and UK/EU market ambitions. Build customer-facing e-commerce journeys that directly shape product discovery, sales and brand perception.
