About the role
• Working towards an Associate degree in Electronics Engineering Technology, Electrical Technology, or a closely related discipline. Bachelor’s degree, military electronics training (such as Navy ET / EM, Air Force 2E series, Army 94E), or equivalent demonstrated hands-on experience will also be considered. • Solid working knowledge of analog and digital electronics fundamentals, including DC and AC theory, Ohm’s and Kirchhoff’s laws, basic semiconductor behavior, op-amps, and digital logic. • Strong understanding of low-voltage power architectures: linear regulators, LDOs, switching regulators, power sequencing, decoupling, and load characterization. • Ability to read and interpret schematics, BOMs, PCB layout files, mechanical drawings, and component datasheets. • Hands-on debug experience with embedded communication interfaces including I2C, SPI, UART, and USB. Basic familiarity with wireless link behavior (Wi-Fi, BLE) is a plus. • Precision soldering and rework skills for SMT components down to 0402 (and ideally smaller) and through-hole assemblies. Comfortable with hot air rework, hot tweezers, and microscope work. • Mechanically inclined: comfortable with hand tools, torque drivers, calipers, basic fixture assembly, and light fabrication. Familiarity with 3D printing for fixture and bracket prototyping is a plus. • Clear written communication skills: able to produce structured test reports, debug logs, and failure analysis write-ups that are usable by engineers and management without rework. • Comfortable with basic data analysis using Excel. Familiarity with Python or MATLAB for processing and plotting measurement data is a plus. • Disciplined approach to ESD safety, lab safety, and traceable data management. • Experience with, or familiarity with, IPC workmanship standards (IPC-A-610) and soldering standards (J-STD-001) is a plus. IPC certification is preferred but not required. • Conformal coating and basic potting or encapsulation handling experience is a plus. • Proven proficiency with the following bench test equipment: ◦ Digital multimeters, handheld and bench grade ◦ Mixed-signal oscilloscopes ◦ Programmable bench DC power supplies ◦ Programmable electronic DC loads ◦ Function and signal generators ◦ Logic analyzers (Saleae) ◦ Spectrum analyzers for basic RF measurements ◦ Source measure units (SMU) for low-current characterization ◦ High-resolution current and power profilers (Joulescope, Keysight N6705) • Self-starter who can take a written test plan, execute it in the lab, recognize when something looks wrong, and escalate with evidence. • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work productively across hardware, firmware, systems, and product teams. • Experience working as part of a multi-cultural and geographically dispersed team. • Willingness to travel up to 10% to support field characterization or production support as needed. • Must be highly motivated, a self-starter, organized, with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with minimal oversight. • High level of resilience and resourcefulness. Open-minded, self-starter, and “can do” approach.
