Job Description:

The Role We seek an experienced GCP Data Architect to shape and lead our data architecture and analytics initiatives on the Google Cloud Platform. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to design scalable data solutions, optimize data pipelines, and enable data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Architecture Design: Craft scalable and reliable data architectures on GCP, encompassing data ingestion, storage, processing, analytics, and visualization for diverse data types (structured, semi-structured, unstructured).

Big Query Expertise: Design and optimize data warehouses and data marts in Big Query, ensuring optimal performance, security, and cost-effectiveness.

Data Pipeline Development: Build robust and efficient data pipelines leveraging GCP services like Dataproc, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, and Cloud Functions.

Data Modelling & Governance: Establish data models (conceptual, logical, physical), metadata management processes, and data governance policies to ensure data integrity, quality, and compliance.

Python Proficiency: Fluency in Python for data manipulation, transformation, analysis, and working with GCP APIs.

SQL Mastery: Expert in SQL for data querying, analysis, and integration across GCP services.

Collaborate & Mentor: Partner with data engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into actionable data solutions. Provide guidance and mentorship to team members.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on experience as a Data Architect or a similar role, with a strong focus on GCP with minimum of 5+ years

• In-depth knowledge of GCP services (Big Query, Dataproc, Dataflow, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, etc.), Python, and SQL.

• Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse complex data sets and derive actionable insights.

• Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to present technical concepts to diverse audiences.

• Experience in managing data-related projects and delivering solutions on time and within budget. Desired Skills (Bonus Points):

• Experience with machine learning and AI concepts on GCP (Vertex AI, Big Query Client)

• Working knowledge of streaming data technologies (Kafka, Apache Beam)

• Familiarity with data visualization tools (Looker, Google Data Studio, Tableau)

• Cloud certifications on GCP (Professional Data Engineer, Professional Cloud Architect)
