About the role

As a Sustainability & ESG Data Research Analyst at EcoRatings, you will play a crucial role in building the knowledge foundation for the EcoRatingsOS AI product. Your responsibilities will include: - Data Research & Sourcing: - Identify, evaluate, and catalog sustainability and ESG-focused datasets from various sources - Assess datasets for quality, coverage, freshness, and licensing suitability - Standards & Regulatory Monitoring: - Track evolving ESG disclosure frameworks and emerging data categories - Ensure EcoRatingsOS aligns with the latest standards - Product Collaboration: - Partner with AI Engineers, Data Engineers, and the Product Lead to translate research findings into structured data schemas - Define feature specifications and ingestion requirements for the EcoRatingsOS intelligence layer - Agentic Architecture Support: - Collaborate with the AI Agentic Architecture team to design autonomous data-collection agents - Define source lists, data contracts, scope, and refresh cadences - Data Quality & Governance: - Design and apply systematic quality frameworks to validate ESG datasets - Document data lineage, metadata, and provenance for auditability - Data Taxonomy: - Build and maintain a structured ESG data taxonomy for reference across teams - Research Output: - Produce research briefs on ESG data availability and emerging methodologies - Support client-facing teams with methodology documentation - Agile Participation: - Contribute to sprint planning and backlog grooming - Translate data research insights into actionable requirements for engineering teams Qualifications required for this role include: - Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Data Science, Economics, Finance, or related field - Domain Expertise: Demonstrated knowledge of ESG frameworks and standards - Data Research Skills: Ability to identify, evaluate, and compare structured and unstructured data sources - Analytical Rigor: Systematic approach to data quality assessment and decision making - Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills - AI & Agentic Architecture: Understanding of how AI agents consume structured datasets - Product Development: Experience contributing to product roadmaps - Python / SQL: Ability to write scripts for data analysis - Alternative Data Sources: Exposure to various data sources like satellite imagery and ESG data vendor APIs Join EcoRatings as a Sustainability & ESG Data Research Analyst to make a significant impact in the sustainability domain by leveraging your technical skills and domain knowledge.
