You will be working as a Sustainability & ESG Data Research Analyst at EcoRatings, contributing to the development of EcoRatingsOS, the flagship AI product. Your role as a core member of the Data track involves bridging the gap between the vast ESG data landscape and generative AI models. Ideal candidates will possess deep sustainability domain knowledge, a technical, rigorous, data-driven mindset, and enjoy solving complex data sourcing challenges in a dynamic product environment. Key Responsibilities: - Data Research & Sourcing: Identify, evaluate, and catalog sustainability and ESG-focused datasets from various global sources, assessing quality, coverage, freshness, and licensing suitability. - Standards & Regulatory Monitoring: Keep track of evolving ESG disclosure frameworks and emerging data categories to ensure alignment with the latest standards. - Product Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams to translate research findings into structured data schemas and feature specifications. - Agentic Architecture Support: Collaborate with the AI Agentic Architecture team to define source lists, data contracts, and refresh cadences. - Data Quality & Governance: Design and apply quality frameworks to validate ESG datasets, ensuring auditability for enterprise clients. - Data Taxonomy: Build and maintain a structured ESG data taxonomy as a reference across teams. - Research Output: Produce research briefs on ESG data availability and emerging methodologies to support product strategy. - Agile Participation: Contribute to sprint planning and backlog grooming, translating data research insights into actionable requirements. Qualifications: - Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Data Science, Economics, Finance, or related field. - Domain Expertise: Demonstrated knowledge of ESG frameworks and standards, sustainability data ecosystem. - Data Research Skills: Ability to identify, evaluate, and compare structured and unstructured data sources. - Analytical Rigor: Systematic approach to data quality assessment and evidence-based decision making. - Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders. - AI & Agentic Architecture: Understanding of LLMs, RAG pipelines, or AI agents is strongly preferred. - Product Development: Experience contributing to product roadmaps or working in sprint-based development cycles is preferred. - Python / SQL: Ability to write scripts for data cleaning, validation, or exploratory analysis is preferred. - Alternative Data Sources: Exposure to satellite imagery, NLP-derived datasets, or ESG data vendor APIs is preferred.
