Data Engineer

Job Title: Data Engineer / Analytics Engineer Location: Remote Experience Level: 4.5 Years to 7 Years Type: Full-Time About the Role: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Data Engineer / Analytics Engineer to join our growing data team. You will be responsible for building robust and scalable data pipelines, modeling data for analytics and business insights, and ensuring high standards of data quality and integrity. The ideal candidate is highly proficient in SQL and DBT, has a strong understanding of modern data architectures, and is comfortable working with version control and CI/CD workflows. Key Responsibilities: Develop, maintain, and optimize scalable data pipelines using DBT . Orchestrate workflows using Apache Airflow (preferred) or other workflow tools. Model and transform data in Snowflake , optimizing for performance and usability. Write advanced SQL queries, including CTEs, window functions, and performance tuning. Read and debug Python scripts integrated into data workflows. Design and maintain logical and physical data models , ensuring data integrity and normalization. Implement unit testing and data quality checks using DBT's testing framework. Collaborate effectively using Git/GitHub , and contribute to a CI/CD pipeline for deployment and version control. Required Skills: Strong SQL expertise (joins, aggregations, window functions, optimization). Hands-on experience with Snowflake or similar cloud-based data warehouses. Proficient in DBT , including: Project structuring, modular development using models and macros. YAML-based configuration and documentation. Test implementation: generic, singular, custom, and unit tests. Working knowledge of Python for reading/debugging scripts. Solid grasp of relational database concepts (e.g., normalization, primary/foreign keys). Experience with Git/GitHub for source control. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines in a data engineering context. Nice to Have: Experience with Apache Airflow or similar orchestration tools. Understanding of financial data and metrics, aiding in effective data validation and modeling.
