Job Title: Engineer IV

Location: 610 Toddville Road, Charlotte, NC (28214)

Duration: 36 Months

Job Description:

Full time, hybrid, 3 days/week in office. Some travel may be required, worker will be required to drive their personal vehicle with mileage reimbursed. A Bachelor's in Engineering and a PE is required for this role. Master's degree is not required, but preferred.

Summary of desired experience: Knowledge of wiring diagrams and schematics. Diagrams and schematics associated with DER site equipment are a plus. (relays, inverters, UPS systems, etc.)

  • Familiarity with testing and commissioning of protective circuits using Omicron and Doble test sets

  • Analyses and reporting of fault responses and breaker operations

  • Experience with hands-on troubleshooting and evaluation of equipment failures to determine root-cause and necessary resolution actions

  • Familiarity with microprocessor-based relaying

  • Familiarity with relay protection schemes and relay logic

  • Experience with relay settings calculations for protective relays associated with Inverter Based Resources

  • Interpret and develop relay logic with microprocessor-based relays

• Provides engineering/technical expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis and resolution of routine problems in area of expertise.

• Assists in the accomplishment of business goals and objectives through effective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling and monitoring of work activities under the guidance of higher-level employees.

• Prepares thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations and sketches associated with the resolution of routine technical problems.

• Conducts basic engineering studies requiring little evaluation or ingenuity.

• Possesses knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures.

• Develops positive working relationships to effectively coordinate work activities. Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills. Maintains accurate records and files.

• Supports the company's goals and represents the company positively and professionally.

• They effectively apply fundamental concepts and procedures to work that is fairly complex and varied. - ≥ 10-15 years discipline experience and a unique SME skill.
