UX Designer

Based in the City of London, Client Labs (Client Technologies, GB) provide an environment where our Clients, Business Stakeholders and Users, engage directly with design teams to create engaging and usable applications. Our focus is the rapid prototyping and delivery of financial applications and services.

The end-user is central to the work we do, and we are looking for an enthusiastic Senior UX/UI Designer to join our team. The successful candidate would be a UX designer experienced in information architecture and running workshops to gather requirements while also being proficient in UI design to guide the development of an evolving design system. The successful candidate will have a real and meaningful impact on the development of products, to be used by our Financial Services clients.

Job Description

Client’s Lab is well known within the investment banking world in delivering high quality visual design and UX. We’ve won awards in national organisations for the quality of our investment platforms.

Our way of operating is to closely partner with our financial services clients in three modes; proof of concept, managed projects and design resource.

The type of design work we typically perform are enterprise level, workflow based and data-centric applications. It is a must for a candidate to have had experience in this type of design.

Key Skills

· Previous experience in investment banking, insurance or other financial services operations

· Participate or run workshops/walkthrough sessions using design sprint and design thinking methodologies

· Gathering in-depth insights into the user’s needs, motivations and organising content to reflect this across multiple platforms

· Executing the User Centred Design (UCD) process from start to finish including user personas, user journeys, sketches, wireframes and interactive prototypes

· Be able to work through complex problems and propose an appropriate solution

· Be proactive in solving problems effectively, using multiple sources of factual information

· Stakeholder and client management

· Ensuring all outputs adhere to relevant policies and standards

· Be highly proficient in the following design software:

o Sketch

o Axure

· Constantly push for a user-centred approach while delivering to business requirements

· Able to design accessible and inclusive interfaces based on industry standards and best practice

· In-depth knowledge of web, desktop and mobile interface best practices

· Experience with starting and guiding the evolution of a design system

Project related skills

· Be able to give accurate estimations of work

· Delivering on time and to budget

· High quality of work produced to meet project requirements

· Ensuring conformity to any strategy or approach

· Identifying opportunities to improve the end product

· Understanding project delivery methodologies including Agile

· Have a working knowledge of practices and opportunities across the digital spectrum which are applicable to a client’s requirements

· An understanding of the latest technologies

· A thorough knowledge of the design production process and procedures

· Hands-on experience in working with and handing over to development teams

Qualifications
