Role Overview As a skilled Wells Research/Geomechanics engineer with a computational background, you will be responsible for driving innovation and enhancing well performance across global assets. Your role will involve a combination of technical, analytical, and project management responsibilities to drive efficiency in upstream oil and gas operations. Responsibilities What will you do: - Build computational models and simulations using competencies in solids/fracture mechanics and slurry flow modeling to develop new technologies, enhance design and operational practices, and address evolving business needs. - Conduct research and development on new technologies, methods, or best practices using simulation models to provide engineering design recommendations for business decisions. - Correlate the field experimental data with numerical simulations and generate insights for improvement of field development processes. - Interpret field experimental data (DAS/pressure/tracer data) and generate data-driven insights to evaluate technologies and provide inputs to business decisions. - Work with reservoir engineers, drilling and completion experts, computational and data scientists, and laboratory scientists across the globe to enhance understanding of subsurface technologies and tools. - Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders. Qualifications About you: - Masters or Dual Degree or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or related disciplines with a minimum GPA of 7.0. - Experience in hydraulic fracture modeling in unconventional reservoirs is of highest value. - Research/industrial experience in fracture mechanics or solid-liquid multiphase flow is required. - Experience with data manipulation and visualization in any programming language (preferably Python) for analyzing experimental, simulation, or sensor data is required. - Knowledge about various diagnostics interpretation used for fracture characterization would be a plus. - Experience in data science (e.g., machine learning, optimization), Spotfire/PowerBi dashboards development, Azure Databricks will be an added advantage. - Demonstrated teamwork, communication, and leadership skills are essential.
