F22 LABS - Lead Software Engineer - Backend Development

As a Lead Software Engineer Backend, you'll build and scale the backend systems that power platform. You'll solve complex engineering challenges, own critical services end-to-end, and help build highly scalable, reliable, and observable distributed systems. Responsibilities Design, build, and enhance scalable backend services and distributed systems. Own backend features from design through production and ongoing improvements. Build reliable APIs and services that power mission-critical product workflows. Improve system performance, scalability, availability, and reliability. Design solutions around databases, caching, messaging, and asynchronous processing. Drive observability by improving logging, monitoring, tracing, and debugging capabilities. Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to deliver customer-focused features. Review code, troubleshoot production issues, and contribute to engineering best practices. Mentor engineers through technical guidance and code reviews while remaining a hands-on individual contributor. Leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering productivity and code quality. You Should Apply If You have 6+ years of backend engineering experience. You've built and operated scalable backend services in production. You have strong programming fundamentals in any modern backend language (Java, Go, Python, Node.js, C#, etc.). You have experience designing scalable APIs and distributed systems. You have hands-on experience with SQL/NoSQL databases, Redis, and message brokers such as Kafka or RabbitMQ. You have worked with Docker and containerized applications. You have experience with observability tools such as Grafana, Datadog, OpenTelemetry, or similar. You enjoy solving performance, scalability, and reliability challenges. You've worked in a product-based SaaS environment. Nice To Have Experience with AWS and cloud-native architectures. Kubernetes experience. GraphQL experience. Experience building platform or observability products. Exposure to high-scale distributed systems.
