About the role

Duties Responsible for updating existing databases of SQL server, as well as coordinating database security policy login using Windows and SQL server authentication mode; generate scripts for lower version of SQL Server; change compatibility level and data and log file locations; setup performance counters using performance monitor to identify the bottleneck of windows server including CPU, memory, IO, paging and SQL Server; utilize SSIS tools including Import and Export Wizard, Package Installation, and SSIS Package Designer to complete assigned tasks; maintain and enhance current database environment (SQL Server) by performing backups, tuning and capacity planning; implement Active, Active Clustering and Active Passive Clustering as a disaster recovery solution; configure DAG from one data center to another and implement Always on Availability Group on Multiple instances for VLDB’s on SQL Server; provide support for production databases and work closely with application users to troubleshoot problems; use SQL Profiler for database tuning; generate traces, execution plans, identify performance issues, deadlocks/contention and resolve them; support software developers with database operations including the development of complex SQL, tuning of DML and the creation of stored procedures; proactively perform database housekeeping activities including archiving and shrinking of databases; coordinate and participate in deployments from a Data Management team standpoint; work on data transfers from and to SQL Server Databases using utilities and tools including DTS, SSIS, BCP, and BULK INSERT; migrate databases among the servers using copy, attach/detach, and copy/restored utilities; utilize and apply knowledge of SQL Server, SQL Sentry, Commvault, SSIS, AWS, Azure, T-SQL, PowerShell, SSRS, PowerBI, Erwin and JIRA to perform duties; work on SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) for data integration from heterogeneous data sources, ad hoc requests and ETL related operations; identify long running queries using Desk Board reports; generate XML plans for T-SQL performance; resolve blocked and locked objects issues; create new Clustered, Non-Clustered Indexes and constraints to the frequently used tables in applications; design and develop stored procedures, queries and views necessary to support SSRS reports; and convert Oracle server databases to SQL Databases using SSMA to reduce maintenance cost. Location: Bentonville, AR and multiple undetermined worksites throughout the U.S.; Salary: $90,000 per year.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Masters - Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology Management, or in a related field of study (will accept equivalent foreign degree); Training: None; Experience: One (1) year in the position above, as a MS SQL Database Administrator, as a SQL Developer, as a Sr. Database Administrator, or in a related occupation; Other Requirements: Experience must include one (1) year use of all the following: SQL Server, SQL Sentry, Commvault, SSIS, AWS, Azure, T-SQL, PowerShell, SSRS, PowerBI, Erwin and JIRA. Will accept any suitable combination of education, training and/or experience.
