About the role
As an Analyst Programmer in the Asset Management Platform (AMP) Data Engineering team at Fidelity, you will play a crucial role in building and maintaining data applications and platforms to support the AMP business operations. Your contributions will directly impact key organizational objectives such as Accelerated Innovation, Cost Optimization, Risk Mitigation, and Business Enablement. Key Responsibilities: - Develop components of data pipelines for ingestion and transformation - Execute and monitor data quality validation processes - Implement solutions based on specifications from senior engineers - Assist in translating business requirements into technical implementations - Write efficient SQL queries and Python scripts for data processing - Follow team standards and engineering best practices - Participate in code reviews to improve technical skills - Help maintain documentation for data processes and configurations - Troubleshoot basic issues in data pipelines Qualifications Required: - Core Technical Skills: - Working knowledge of cloud-based platforms (AWS, Azure, or equivalent) - Good proficiency in Python and SQL - Familiarity with basic CI/CD concepts - Understanding of data access control concepts - Experience with RDBMS (Oracle, Postgres, MSSQL) - Basic understanding of ETL concepts - Familiarity with GitHub and version control principles - Willingness to learn investment management industry concepts - Bonus Technical Skills: - Basic understanding of containerization concepts - Interest in API development - Willingness to learn about Asset Management data domains - Key Soft Skills: - Analytical mindset and eagerness to learn - Clear communication of technical concepts - Ability to work effectively in a team environment In addition to the technical and soft skills required for the role, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment at Fidelity.
