Senior Database Engineer (DBA, Data Modeling)

As a Database Administrator (DBA) at FIS, you will be responsible for various key tasks including: - Data modeling and database design: You will work on data modeling and database design activities, translating logical database designs into physical implementations and managing them effectively. - Database schema creation and management: Implementing and managing database schemas to ensure efficient data storage and retrieval. - Backup and recovery: Implementing robust backup and recovery procedures to safeguard data and ensure business continuity. - Performance management and tuning: Proactively monitoring database performance and making necessary optimizations to enhance efficiency. - Data Migration: Experience in data migration across different RDBMS platforms using various tools. - SQL code reviews and walk-thru: Possessing in-depth SQL knowledge to review and optimize SQL queries. - Capacity planning: Supporting data and user growth by predicting and implementing necessary database changes. - Storage management techniques: Understanding storage hardware and software interactions with the DBMS. - Automation: Implementing automation tools like Jenkin and Ansible to support multiple databases. - Troubleshooting Skills: Root causing complex issues and troubleshooting performance and security problems. - Web-specific technology expertise: Supporting web-based technologies and applications. - Working knowledge with IaaC tools: Experience with tools like Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform for infrastructure management. - Cloud concepts: Familiarity with cloud technologies and container orchestration. - CI/CD tools: Working knowledge of delivering applications into cloud environments using CI/CD tools.
