As a Senior Java Backend Engineer (Platform Engineer), your role will involve designing, developing, and maintaining backend services using Java/Kotlin and Spring Boot 3+. You will be responsible for building and maintaining REST and GraphQL (Apollo Federation) APIs to replace legacy system components. Your tasks will also include working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or Google Spanner, deploying and operating services on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and implementing secure authentication and authorization using OAuth 2.0 and up-to-date identity protocols. Additionally, you will need to utilize observability and monitoring tools like New Relic to ensure system reliability. Collaboration with cross-functional teams while maintaining strong individual ownership of deliverables is crucial for success in this role.
