Platform Engineer

As a Senior Java Backend Engineer (Platform Engineer), your role involves designing, developing, and maintaining backend services using Java/Kotlin and Spring Boot 3+. You will be responsible for building and maintaining REST and GraphQL (Apollo Federation) APIs to replace legacy system components. Working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or Google Spanner will be a key part of your responsibilities. Additionally, you will deploy and operate services on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), with experience in Kubernetes for container orchestration being a plus. Implementing secure authentication and authorization using OAuth 2.0 and modern identity protocols is also part of your role. Utilizing observability and monitoring tools such as New Relic to ensure system reliability will be essential. Collaboration with cross-functional teams while maintaining strong individual ownership of deliverables is crucial. Your qualifications should include strong experience with JVM languages (Java or Kotlin) and hands-on experience with Spring Boot 3 and modern application frameworks. A solid understanding of building scalable backend services and microservices is required.
