About the role
Foundever is seeking an experienced Network Operations Engineer (L3) to take senior technical ownership of our most complex, high-impact network incidents and keep our global network running. Sitting at the top of the network operations escalation path, you will be the senior authority for Priority 1 and Priority 2 incidents leading incident response, driving root-cause analysis, and delivering the projects, automation and process improvements that stop problems from recurring. This is a hands-on, high-trust role for an engineer who wants to own outcomes across routing & switching, data centre networking, SD-WAN, load balancing and security (Cisco ASA, FTD, Umbrella and Checkpoint), working alongside experienced peers in a 247 follow-the-sun team. Responsibilities: - Own and resolve escalated Priority 1 and Priority 2 network incidents; act as the senior point of escalation for L1 and L2 engineers and communicate high-impact issues to stakeholders. - Lead root-cause analysis and post-incident reviews, driving permanent fixes and process improvement. - Lead network projects upgrades, migrations and installations delivering on time and within budget. - Support, Design and deploy LAN, WAN, WLAN and SD-WAN solutions for high availability and redundancy. - Configure and manage routers, switches, firewalls and load balancers (Cisco, Checkpoint, F5, Kemp). - Monitor network performance and capacity using Entuity, Meraki and LiveAction; proactively identify and prevent issues. - Drive the adoption of agentic AI within network operations processes to improve overall visibility and responsiveness. - Enforce network security policies and support audit and compliance closure (PCI DSS, ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR). - Maintain network documentation, diagrams and SOPs in the GNS wiki. - Coordinate with vendors for critical and escalated issues. - Work as part of a 247 rotational, follow-the-sun operations/engineering team. - Qualifications: - 7+ years in network and security engineering and operations, including L3 / escalation experience. - Deep routing and switching: BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS. - Hands-on across the stack: Cisco ASR/ISR, Catalyst 9500/9300/9200, Nexus and Meraki (MS/MR/MX); firewalls and VPNs (Cisco ASA, FTD, Checkpoint, Umbrella); load balancers (F5, Kemp); proxy and content filtering (Cisco WSA, Skyhigh / McAfee Web Gateway). - Network monitoring with Entuity, SolarWinds or LiveAction. - CCNP (Enterprise, Data Center or Security) strongly preferred; bachelors in Engineering / Science / IT (or equivalent experience) preferred. - Willing and able to work 247 rotational shifts. Additional Skills that Would Be Beneficial: - Cloud networking experience (AWS, Azure or Google Cloud). - Network automation (Python, Ansible). - Experience in enterprise, financial and data centre environments. Technical Skills & Qualification: - Education (if beyond High School or equivalent): Preferred - Bachelor in Engineering - Computers / Electronics / Communication or related field, Graduate/Post Graduate in Science/Math/IT - Cisco Certified Network Professional Enterprise / Data Center / Security would be an added advantage. - Willing to work in a 24x7 rotational shift.
