Job Summary The AVP, Infrastructure Engineer AWS Cloud is a senior individual contributor responsible for designing and building AWS infrastructure to support large-scale application and data platform migrations from on-premises to cloud. This role translates enterprise architecture and migration design documents into secure, resilient, and cost-optimized AWS environments. The position is hands-on with no direct people management responsibilities and partners closely with Architecture, Security, Networking, and Application teams. Key Responsibilities - Design, implement, and operate AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/CloudFormation) - Build AWS services including VPC, EC2, EKS/ECS, RDS/Aurora, S3, IAM, Route 53, ALB/NLB, and CloudWatch - Execute infrastructure builds supporting data center exit and cloud migration initiatives - Implement AWS security best practices including least-privilege IAM, encryption, logging, and monitoring - Support hybrid connectivity patterns including VPN and Direct Connect - Apply FinOps principles to optimize AWS cost and resource utilization - Collaborate with Architecture and Security teams to ensure compliance and standards alignment Required Qualifications - 10+ years of infrastructure engineering experience with 5+ years in AWS - Solid hands-on experience with Terraform and/or CloudFormation - Deep knowledge of AWS networking, compute, storage, identity, and security - Experience supporting enterprise-scale cloud migrations - Strong troubleshooting skills across hybrid cloud environments Preferred Qualifications - AWS Professional-level certifications - Experience with EKS, ECS, and container platforms - Experience operating in regulated enterprise environments - Experience with using AI tools such as Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, or Cursor in the creation of automation.
