Mechanical Draughtsman is a professional who prepares technical drawings and plans used in the design and manufacturing of mechanical equipment, machinery, and tools. A Draughtsman Mechanical is responsible for developing 2D drawings of design specifications for mechanical equipment and components. The individual selects and uses the appropriate Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software and equipment for the purpose, depending on the type and complexity of the drawing functions to be carried out.
