Backup Administrator

This is for having a Backup Administrator position for Veritas NetBackup and TSM backup solution to help Backup Lead for technical support on Backup. The member of IN IT Backup infrastructure setups and maintains backups infrastructure to provide a stable, cost-effective backup environment to the business across PAN India. Technical Management Services & Setup deployment Set up & maintain IT common infrastructure architecture in India.. Enterprise backup system management ? TSM, NetBackup backup system in PAN India : Backup policy strategy, standard & local regulatory compliance Centralized Tape backup archiving on-site and off-site storage Corporate Tape Library infrastructure setup and administration Configure New backup clients Setup new system infrastructure environments to host the IT I&P regional applications Maintenance & Support: Provide Incident troubleshooting and support for the backup infrastructure (possible night calls; WE work; shift work from 7:00 to 21:00) System?s problem management and recovery Storage provisioning and usage control Backup system security and vulnerability management Ad-hoc backup/restoration handling Storage usage, dashboard, and charge-out report Must have a continual improvement and risk mitigation focus and proactively improve the monitoring, efficiency, reliability, capacity, and quality of all IT services under his/her managed perimeter. Guarantee functioning of the infrastructure/services in India, taking into account business requirements Responsible for having an operational, up-to-date BCP / DR documented and tested Business relationship management Liaising with Business Application Teams, Regional IT Teams, Global Infrastructure Support, and IT Security Teams to resolve issues, complete tasks, and deliver projects in a timely fashion. Governance Planning and completing designated projects from start to end, providing regular updates on tasks and project status, and ensuring project deadlines are met on time. Responsible for the SLA section related to the tower: SLA definition, reporting, and dashboards. Ensure the coordination and collaboration with the Global Head of the relevant functional area. Ensure that the instructions and guidelines of the Group (esp. IT Security guidelines and Global ITI&P Governance) are respected and the architecture is validated. Responsible for controls to be run as well as the closure of audit points related to the tower. Minimum Requirements At least 2-3-year experience in administration of NetBackup, TSM tape library, VTL, backup appliance and other backup infrastructure related products Aware of Veritas NetBackup principles and latest technologies Hands-on in NDMP and VMWare ESX backup solutions Experience in Media management Certified in Veritas Backup administration is added advantage. Backup methodologies (incremental, selective, image, progressive, on-site, off-site, etc.) Basic hardware knowledge (server, CPU, memory, etc.) Perform trouble shooting and RCA for backup failures. NetBackup and TSM administration intermediate to advanced level Physical and virtual tape library management intermediate to advanced level ITIL foundation for service management Preferred Skills Soft Skill Requirements Working problem determination skill Basic operating systems knowledge Able to clear and effective communications between and across the teams. Able to provide various dashboard information. Creation of Backup Plan and Report. Good knowledge in Backup security Preferably working in a financial institute Strong interpersonal communication skills. Ability to work productively in a dynamic environment and work independently.
