Deputy Manager - Data Engineering

Key Skills: SQL, Power BI, VBA Role Overview We are looking for a skilled Deputy Manager - Data Engineering with strong hands-on experience in SQL, Power BI, and VBA to design, build, and maintain data pipelines, analytics solutions, and reporting dashboards. The role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into scalable and automated data solutions. Key Responsibilities Design, build, and maintain data pipelines and automated workflows across multiple internal systems. Extract, validate, and integrate data from various source systems including databases, APIs, and flat files , ensuring data accuracy and integrity. Develop and optimize ETL processes to clean, transform, and aggregate large datasets for analytics and reporting. Manage and optimize SQL databases , including complex queries, stored procedures, performance tuning, and monitoring. Build and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports , including data modeling, DAX calculations, and performance optimization. Develop VBA-based automation solutions to streamline recurring data processing and reporting activities. Perform data analysis , prepare insights, trend analysis, and data validation reports for stakeholders. Collaborate closely with Technology, Actuarial, and Engineering teams to understand business needs and deliver technical solutions. Ensure proper documentation, version control , and adherence to data governance and best practices. Core Technical Requirements Strong hands-on experience with SQL , including complex queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning. Proven experience building and managing ETL pipelines using tools or custom-developed scripts. Proficiency in VBA for automating data processing and reporting workflows. Strong expertise in Power BI , including data modeling, DAX calculations, and report optimization. Advanced Excel skills , including Power Query, Power Pivot, macros, and complex formulas. Solid understanding of data structures, data quality checks, and validation techniques . Experience extracting data from enterprise systems, APIs, and structured/unstructured data sources .
