Job Title: R&D Formulation Manager Job Summary We are looking for an experienced and innovative R&D Formulation Manager to lead product formulation and development initiatives. The role involves designing, testing, and optimising formulations, managing R&D projects, and ensuring products meet quality, regulatory, and commercial requirements. This position requires strong technical expertise, leadership capability, and cross-functional collaboration. Key Responsibilities Lead formulation development activities for new and existing products. Design experiments to develop and optimise formulations (e.g., pharmaceuticals, chemicals, personal care, or food products). Oversee scale-up processes from laboratory to pilot and commercial production. Manage R&D projects, timelines, and resources to ensure timely delivery. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., FDA, GMP, ISO). Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Production, Regulatory, and Marketing teams. Analyse formulation performance and stability data; recommend improvements. Prepare technical reports, documentation, and regulatory submissions. Lead and mentor a team of scientists and formulation specialists. Monitor industry trends, innovations, and competitor products to drive continuous improvement. Required Qualifications Masters or PhD in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. 610+ years of experience in formulation development and R&D. Strong knowledge of formulation techniques and analytical methods. Experience with regulatory guidelines (GMP, GLP, FDA, etc.). Proven leadership and project management skills. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. Preferred Skills / Qualifications Experience in a specific industry (pharmaceuticals, FMCG, agrochemicals, or cosmetics). Familiarity with scale-up and technology transfer processes. Strong people management and team leadership experience. Knowledge of statistical tools and DOE (Design of Experiments). Excellent communication and technical writing skills. Work Environment Combination of laboratory, pilot plant, and office-based work. May involve handling chemicals or specialised materials under strict safety protocols.
