Agent Identity Architect
Location: Remote, United States (EST hours) Duration: 6-12+ month W2 contract Type: C2C
About the Role
Join Vanguard’s cutting-edge Global Enterprise Security team as an Agent Identity Architect. Lead the enterprise transformation by designing and implementing secure identity strategies for AI agents and non-human identities across multi-cloud environments. This is a unique opportunity to shape security architecture for emerging AI and agent-based ecosystems, collaborating with top talent and driving standards that will impact the organization at scale.
Responsibilities

Define and drive agentic identity strategies, standards, and architectures for AI agents and non-human identities.

Design and implement secure identity models, authorization patterns, and trust boundaries for multi-cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP) and SaaS environments.

Develop security design patterns and long-term direction for agent identity lifecycle management, including onboarding, ownership, and credential management.

Build scalable agent discovery and inventory solutions across diverse platforms.

Establish robust access controls, enforcing least privilege and policy-driven boundaries at tool and runtime levels.

Integrate agent activity observability and telemetry with enterprise detection and response pipelines.

Partner with IAM, security, and engineering teams to deliver reusable, secure-by-design identity patterns.

Lead implementation efforts, ensuring cross-functional alignment and technical excellence.

Required Skills and Experience
-
8+ years in identity and cloud security architecture within enterprise environments.
-
Deep expertise in IAM/security architecture, including directory services, SSO, federation, OAuth, OIDC, and lifecycle governance.

Proven experience securing Cloud Compute Platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), with deep proficiency in at least one.

Strong background defining identity models, authorization patterns, and trust boundaries.

Hands-on experience with Privileged Access Management (PAM), access reviews, and identity governance administration.

Ability to drive standards and collaborate with engineering and security teams.

Understanding of AI systems and agentic identity concepts.

Preferred Skills

Certifications: CCSP, AWS, GCP, or Azure platform certifications.

Experience with emerging AI/agentic identity models.

Strong technical leadership and enterprise-scale architecture design expertise.

Ability to bridge business and technical objectives.
