Tech 2, Mechanical Engineering – Product Development Technician (Contractor) Location: Brea, CA | Shift: M-F 1:30–10:00 PM | Pay: $27–$35/hr
About the Role

As a Product Development Technician, you’ll play a vital role in supporting innovative healthcare solutions that impact patient outcomes worldwide. Responsibilities

Gather, compile, and maintain technical data from laboratory and engineering processes

Produce clear engineering documentation, including diagrams, reports, and flow charts

Prepare quantitative analysis and concise technical summaries for project teams

Execute designed test protocols, conduct laboratory testing, and accurately document results
-
Support engineers with technical tasks and provide solutions to routine technical challenges
-
Assist with scoping, qualification, and maintenance of laboratory equipment
-
Participate in the development of prototype processes and test setups

Maintain lab safety procedures and assist with calibration and routine maintenance
-
Communicate effectively within cross-functional teams to ensure project success

Required Skills and Experience

Minimum high school diploma
-
4–6 years of lab experience (corporate, school, or regulated technical environment)

Proven ability to follow written procedures and collaborate within a team

Strong skills in technical data handling and documentation

Proficient with personal computers

Preferred Skills
-
Bachelor of Science in a technical discipline

1–2 years’ experience in a laboratory or R&D setting

Experience training junior technicians

Advanced communication skills within cross-functional teams
