Job Title: Data Governance & Data Risk Consultant Location: Bengaluru / Chennai / Gurgaon (Hybrid) Experience: 5 to 10 Years Employment Type: Full-Time Job Summary We are looking for an experienced Data Governance & Data Risk Consultant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Enterprise Data Governance, Data Risk Management, Data Controls, Data Quality, and Data Lineage within the Banking or Financial Services domain. The role involves working with business and technology stakeholders to strengthen data governance frameworks, assess data risks, improve data quality, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities Drive Enterprise Data Governance initiatives across business functions. Perform Data Risk Assessments, Control Design Reviews, and Control Effectiveness Assessments. Evaluate Data Controls related to completeness, accuracy, reconciliation, metadata, lineage, and data sharing. Define and manage Critical Data Elements (CDEs), Data Stewardship, and Data Quality frameworks. Collaborate with business, technology, and risk teams to implement governance standards and remediation plans. Support regulatory and compliance initiatives, including BCBS 239. Develop dashboards, governance metrics, and executive-level reporting. Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership and governance forums. Identify opportunities to automate governance processes and improve monitoring capabilities. Preferred Industry Banking Financial Services Investment Banking Global Capability Centers (GCCs) Desired Candidate Profile 715 years of experience in Data Governance, Data Risk, or Data Controls. Experience working in regulated financial services environments. Strong understanding of enterprise data platforms, governance frameworks, and regulatory compliance. Ability to influence cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with senior stakeholders. Experience delivering measurable improvements in data quality, risk reduction, governance, or operational efficiency.
