Technical Manager - Software Development

As the Technical Manager of Software Development at INVIDI Technologies, you will be a key player in transforming television worldwide through cutting-edge software solutions. INVIDI Technologies is a renowned developer with two-time Emmy Award-winning technology, widely used by cable, satellite, and telco operators. Your role will involve managing a skilled software development team across global locations, overseeing technical product design, delivery, and production support, and fostering a culture of continuous development. Key Responsibilities: - Build and manage a highly skilled Software Development team to collaborate with global teams in Princeton US, Edmonton, Canada, and Stockholm, Sweden. - Provide oversight on technical product/solution design, delivery, and production support while fostering a culture of continuous development. - Collaborate with other SW Development Managers to ensure deliverables meet deadlines and specifications. - Work with Product Managers/Development Teams to estimate work and agree on code deployments following Agile methodologies. - Provide regular detailed reports and metrics on project/team status. - Mentor team members and facilitate decision-making and issue resolution. - Implement best engineering practices including design reviews, code reviews, and deployments using DevSecOps. - Establish a delivery governance structure for planning, execution, and delivery of developments/enhancements. Qualifications: - 8+ years of experience in Software development and delivery. - BS in Computer Science or related technical discipline or equivalent practical experience. - Extensive experience with design and development of complex distributed systems. - Strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design. - Experience leading software development teams, managing priorities, and delivering on commitments. - Knowledge of Agile methodologies, IT roles, and software development lifecycle. - Ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines in a fast-changing environment. - Project Management skills including estimating, scope management, budget management, and risk management. - Good understanding of cloud-based technologies (AWS/GCP) and DevOps. - Coding skills in Java, Kotlin, C++, or Python, database design, SQL, and/or TCP/IP and network programming. Additional Experience: - Experience in a presales environment and ad technology is a plus.
