Java Developer

Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Backend Developer to join our dynamic engineering team. You will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the robust server-side applications that power our core platform. This is not a typical backend role. While you must have deep expertise in Java and Spring Boot , the ideal candidate also possesses a strong DevOps mindset . You will own the full software lifecycle, from writing clean, testable code to automating its deployment, scaling, and monitoring within our modern microservices architecture. Key Responsibilities Backend Development: Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable, high-throughput microservices using Java 17+ and Spring Boot 3 . API Design: Architect and implement robust RESTful APIs for consumption by frontend applications and external partners. DevOps & CI/CD Automation: Take ownership of the CI/CD lifecycle. Build, maintain, and optimize automated deployment pipelines using tools like Jenkins , GitLab CI , or GitHub Actions. Microservices & Containerization: Develop and maintain containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes . Ensure seamless service discovery, load balancing, and scaling of microservices. Quality Assurance: Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code. Implement comprehensive unit, integration, and end-to-end tests. Champion "shift-left" testing principles within the pipeline. Infrastructure & Monitoring: Collaborate with infrastructure teams to define and manage cloud resources (AWS/Azure/GCP). Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting strategies (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack) to ensure service reliability. Collaboration: Work closely with frontend engineers, product managers, and DevOps engineers in an Agile Scrum environment to deliver high-quality features on time. Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers, participating in code reviews and promoting best practices. Mandatory Technical Skills & Qualifications Candidates must possess demonstrable, hands-on experience with the following: Java: Expert-level proficiency in core Java (JDK 17 or higher) with strong knowledge of object-oriented design, data structures, and multi-threading. Spring Ecosystem: Extensive, practical experience with Spring Boot 3 and related modules (Spring Data, Spring Security, Spring Cloud). Architecture: Deep understanding of microservices architecture , Domain-Driven Design (DDD), and event-driven patterns. DevOps & CI/CD: Proven experience building and managing automated CI/CD pipelines from scratch. Must be able to script pipelines (e.g., Jenkinsfile, GitLab CI YAML). Containerization & Orchestration: Hands-on experience with Docker and familiarity with container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes . Databases: Proficiency in relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and ORM frameworks (Hibernate/JPA). Familiarity with NoSQL databases is a plus. Version Control: Git.
