Role & responsibilities Position Name: SENIOR ELECTRICAL ENGINEER Industry Type: Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Fertilizers, Power Experience: 5-8 years Provide technical support to the marketing team during bid preparation, proposals, and tender evaluations. Manage, expedite, and support consultant and construction document submissions while ensuring adherence to project budgets and schedules. Maintain effective coordination with consultants, contractors, vendors, and material suppliers throughout the project lifecycle. Assist in developing new engineering standards and continuously improve existing standards, specifications, and best practices. Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for electrical engineering activities and provide technical guidance to project teams. Coordinate closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure project objectives, technical requirements, and schedules are achieved. Prepare engineering scope documents, specifications, technical exhibits, budgets, project schedules, and Requests for Proposals (RFPs). Lead or participate in engineering review meetings, technical discussions, and project coordination meetings. Develop high-quality electrical engineering designs, studies, calculations, specifications, and drawings in compliance with client requirements, industry standards, and company procedures. Participate in engineering, design, procurement, and construction review processes to ensure design integrity and constructability. Perform value engineering studies to optimize project cost, quality, safety, and operational efficiency. Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, technical documents, and construction standards to support project execution. Investigate electrical system issues, perform root cause analysis, and recommend effective corrective and preventive actions. Obtain and incorporate relevant design inputs from the Lead Engineer and other engineering disciplines into project deliverables. Ensure preparation of electrical engineering deliverables in accordance with applicable international codes, standards, project specifications, and quality requirements. Coordinate effectively with Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Instrumentation, Process, and Piping disciplines to resolve technical interfaces. Participate in vendor technical discussions, document reviews, inspections, and approval processes. Ensure proper checking, review, and approval of engineering drawings and documents before issue at every revision stage. Assist the Lead Engineer in work planning, progress monitoring, manpower utilization, and timely completion of engineering deliverables. Prepare and review engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, material requisitions, and other technical documents in accordance with approved quality plans. Monitor assigned engineering activities to ensure adherence to project schedules, quality standards, and client requirements. Assist the Lead Engineer in departmental coordination, technical reviews, and overall engineering management activities. Review critical electrical systems and recommend technical improvements to enhance reliability, maintainability, and operational performance. Ensure compliance with project quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) procedures throughout engineering activities. Integrate Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) principles into electrical engineering design and project execution. Conduct comprehensive EHS risk assessments and implement appropriate mitigation measures during engineering activities. Ensure compliance with applicable electrical safety standards, statutory regulations, and company EHS policies. Promote a strong safety culture by providing EHS awareness and training to engineering personnel. Coordinate with project teams to ensure safe engineering practices are incorporated into design, construction, commissioning, and maintenance activities. Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance engineering quality, operational efficiency, reliability, and safety performance.
