Senior Engineer 2

Role Summary We are looking for a Senior Engineer 2 to join our Cust Care Technology team and help build scalable, high-performance solutions across customer journey. This role requires strong expertise in Java backend engineering along with solid frontend development knowledge, enabling full-stack delivery for customer-facing and business-facing applications. The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer who can partner closely with business stakeholders, product owners, business analysts, architects, QA, and DevOps teams to design, build, test, and support modern digital solutions in an Agile environment. Key Responsibilities Own end-to-end development responsibilities for one or more product teams, from technical design through deployment and production support. Partner with business analysts and product stakeholders to estimate, design, and deliver effective, scalable, and maintainable solutions aligned to business goals. Design and develop enterprise-grade applications and services for business use cases. Build robust backend services using Java, Spring Boot, Spring Framework, REST APIs, and microservices architecture. Develop responsive and reusable frontend components using modern frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue, with attention to usability and performance. Write clean, testable, and maintainable code; develop unit and integration tests to ensure solution quality. Troubleshoot and resolve pre-production and post-production issues quickly and effectively. Perform technical analysis, debugging, root cause investigation, and application performance tuning. Collaborate with cross-functional Agile/Scrum teams to deliver incremental business value. Participate in code reviews, solution reviews, and technical design discussions. Propose new ideas and technology improvements when they create strong business value. Stay current on emerging engineering practices, tools, and technology trends. Work directly with business customers and internal IT teams to communicate technical options and implementation approach. Required Qualifications 6+ years of experience developing applications using Java technologies with strong experience in systems design, Object Oriented programming, and debugging. 4+ years of experience with Spring Framework, including Spring Boot, REST services, and microservices development. Strong hands-on experience building and consuming RESTful APIs. 2+ years of NoSQL experience, preferably Cassandra. 2+ years of cloud experience, preferably AWS. Strong experience with UNIX/Linux command line and shell scripting. Experience working in cross-functional Agile/Scrum teams. Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions. Experience with application profiling and performance tuning tools. Strong knowledge of software engineering best practices, including clean code, SOLID principles, and design patterns. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Technical Skills Backend Java 17+ Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data, Spring Security Microservices architecture REST API design and integration Cassandra / other NoSQL databases SQL databases such as Oracle or PostgreSQL Messaging and integration patterns Unit testing using JUnit, Mockito, and Spring Boot Test Kafka (Good to have) Frontend Strong working knowledge of React, Angular, or Vue HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript Component-based UI development API integration and state management Responsive design and performance-aware frontend engineering Experience with micro-frontend architecture Cloud / DevOps / Tools AWS services and cloud-native application development Docker and Kubernetes Git / Stash / Jenkins Application monitoring and performance tools Linux shell scripting Preferred Qualifications Experience in Customer Experience or broader Retail / eCommerce domains. Experience with high-volume customer/business-facing platforms. Exposure to distributed systems, caching, and event-driven architecture.
