About the role
Service/Commissioning Engineer Commissioning OM (Gas Gensets) Carry out installation supervision, commissioning, testing, and start-up of gas gensets at customer sites. Perform engine, alternator, Balance of Plant (BOP), gas train, ignition system, and AVR checks before commissioning. Handle wiring, cable termination, testing, and verification of control panels, MCC/PCC panels, protection relays, and associated electrical systems. Configure, program, and troubleshoot PLCs, HMI, genset controllers, and other control systems. Perform AVR configuration, engine synchronization, load sharing, and grid/island mode operation during commissioning. Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, PLC, instrumentation, and control system faults through systematic troubleshooting and root cause analysis. Carry out preventive maintenance, breakdown maintenance, servicing, overhauls, and performance optimization of gas gensets and associated equipment. Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, single-line diagrams, PIDs, and technical manuals for installation and troubleshooting. Prepare commissioning reports, service reports, maintenance records, customer sign-off documents, and technical documentation. Ensure compliance with site safety procedures, quality standards, and company policies while working at customer locations. Coordinate with customers, project teams, vendors, and internal departments to ensure smooth project execution and timely completion. Travel extensively to project/customer sites across India and occasionally overseas for commissioning, servicing, troubleshooting, and maintenance activities.
