Lead GCP Data Engineer Location: Remote Experience: 12+ Years Employment Type: Contract (C2C) Budget: 70,000-80,000LPM Notice Period: Immediate to 15 Days Preferred We are hiring an experienced Lead GCP Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize enterprise-scale data platforms on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in cloud-native data engineering, modern data architecture, real-time data processing, and technical leadership. Key Responsibilities Design and implement scalable data platforms on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Develop batch and real-time data pipelines using BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataform, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, Dataproc, Cloud Functions, and Cloud Composer (Airflow). Build robust ETL/ELT pipelines using Python and SQL. Design modern data warehouses, data lakes, and scalable data models. Optimize BigQuery performance through query tuning, partitioning, and clustering. Implement data quality, monitoring, governance, and security best practices. Mentor engineering teams and lead architecture discussions. Collaborate with Data Scientists, BI teams, Product Owners, and Solution Architects. Support infrastructure automation using Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes (GKE), Git, and CI/CD pipelines. Required Skills 12+ years of Data Engineering experience. 5+ years of hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP). 3+ years of Technical Leadership or Solution Architecture experience. Strong experience with BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataform, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, Dataproc, Cloud Composer (Airflow), Cloud Functions, Cloud SQL, and Bigtable. Strong knowledge of Python, SQL, Shell Scripting, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes (GKE), and CI/CD. Expertise in Data Warehousing, Data Lakes, Data Modeling, Data Vault, Dimensional Modeling, Event-Driven Architecture, and Microservices. Experience with IAM, Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging, Cloud KMS, and VPC. Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills. Mandatory Certification Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer Certification. Preferred Skills Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect Certification. Experience with dbt, Looker, Vertex AI, BigQuery ML, AutoML, Kafka, Apache Spark, and Data Mesh. Exposure to Manufacturing, Supply Chain, or Industrial domains.
