About the role
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Java AWS Engineer in Durham, NC.
Key Tasks:
Designing and developing RESTful APIs using Java
Developing software utilizing relational databases (Oracle, Postgres)
Test automation for unit, functional and non-functional testing
Actively participates in and assists towards formal reviews of architecture, design and code
Publishes clear, concise and thorough design documentation
Provides support for software releases into production environments
Cultivates partnership and collaboration across multi-region development teams, business and systems partners
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technology discipline
AWS Cloud certifications and hands-on experience with services such as Amazon S3, Lambda, SNS, SQS, Event Bridge, Glue, and CloudFormation (CFN) are preferred
5+ years of software development experience on business critical, enterprise-wide applications
Extensive experience with Service Oriented Architecture REST APIs using Spring Boot/Drop wizard/Micronaut
Experience with re-platforming large applications
Experience with supporting Monolith legacy applications
Proven experience working with relational databases such as Oracle and Postgres
Proven track record working with event-driven microservice architecture
Knowledge of end-to-end DevSecOps automation with CI/CD pipelines including Unit, Component and Functional test automation
Expertise in designing, developing and maintaining high-volume transactional systems
Knowledge of current technologies and evolving trends
Detail oriented coupled with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong organizational skills coupled with effective written and verbal communication skills
Strong team player and collaborator
Must be an organized self-starter with a team-based work style, and the ability to multi-task
Ability to debug through legacy systems and capture current state to aid with modernization
Ability to develop technical artifacts based on analysis of business and systems requirements
Ability to discover/document implementations from legacy systems, Oracle, Java. as part of re- platform
Ability to quickly learn new concepts and technologies
Experience with Co-Pilot/Dev Assistant tools desirable
Experience with Agile and Scrum Methodologies is preferred
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
