About the role
Are you a skilled Systems Engineer with experience supporting complex network and infrastructure environments? Kforce has a client in Winchester, VA that is seeking a motivated professional to help design, implement, secure, and maintain enterprise systems supporting critical operations. This role offers the opportunity to work across networking, virtualization, systems integration, storage, and infrastructure technologies in a highly collaborative environment.
Key Tasks:
Design, implement, configure, and maintain network infrastructure, operating systems, and associated hardware
Evaluate, install, test, and support new network hardware, software, and communication technologies
Monitor system performance, analyze utilization metrics, and troubleshoot operational issues across enterprise environments
Perform network troubleshooting at both the physical and logical layers, including protocol analysis and hardware diagnostics
Support the planning, design, technical review, and deployment of network infrastructure supporting voice and data communications
Administer and maintain virtualization platforms and enterprise network environments
Ensure compliance with network infrastructure standards and communication protocols, including TCP/IP
Manage storage, backup, recovery, and systems integration efforts to support operational continuity
Evaluate, test, certify, deploy, patch, and maintain infrastructure components while addressing interoperability challenges
Support system accreditation, certification activities, and security compliance requirements
Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), technical documentation, and Quick Reference Guides
Provide technical consultation, training, and support to IT personnel and stakeholders
Experience with enterprise network administration and systems engineering
Knowledge of virtualization technologies, storage systems, backup solutions, and infrastructure management
Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols, including TCP/IP
Experience troubleshooting complex system and communication issues
Familiarity with system patching, configuration management, and accreditation processes
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills
Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, administrators, and technical teams

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
