Mobile Development Lead (React Native)

Role Overview: As a React Native Lead, you will be responsible for owning the architecture, performance, and quality of the Kirana Club mobile app. This hands-on engineering role will require you to spend the majority of your time building, reviewing, and enhancing the product while assisting a small team in elevating the overall technical standards. Key Responsibilities: - Own the architecture, performance, stability, and release quality of the Kirana Club mobile app. - Build and maintain a large React Native codebase to cater to millions of users across various Android devices and network conditions. - Drive technical decisions regarding app structure, state management, navigation, networking, caching, and observability. - Continuously enhance app startup time, responsiveness, memory usage, and overall reliability, with a specific focus on low-end devices and unreliable network conditions. - Develop for a product centered around commerce, community, images, and video, where user experience is directly influenced by performance and reliability. - Monitor app health through crash reporting, performance metrics, tracing, and release monitoring, and proactively resolve issues before they impact users. - Collaborate closely with product and design teams to transform concepts into high-quality user experiences. - Lead technical projects from inception to completion, including planning, architecture, rollout, and iteration, while providing guidance to a small team of engineers. - Utilize tools like Claude Code and Codex as integral parts of the development workflow to enhance efficiency and automate repetitive tasks. Qualifications Required: - 6+ years of mobile development experience, with at least 4 years working with React Native. - Proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, mobile application architecture, and software engineering. - Experience in scaling consumer-facing mobile applications for large user bases, emphasizing performance, reliability, and maintainability. - Demonstrated success in addressing performance and reliability issues in live applications. - Leadership experience in projects, balancing rapid execution with long-term technical excellence. - Strong product intuition and a keen eye for user experience.
