About the role
As a Database Architect at Kyndryl, your role involves providing thought leadership on database architectural design for existing and new systems, database administration, performance monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting problems. You will also be responsible for evaluating and implementing products to enhance existing database solutions, reviewing, enhancing, and developing backup and recovery strategies, and capacity planning for monitoring database growth. Additionally, you will develop, maintain, and administer complex ETL using SQL Server (SSIS) and ensure High Availability solutions, including replication and clustering. Key Responsibilities: - Provide thought leadership on database architectural design, administration, and performance monitoring - Evaluate and implement products to enhance database solutions - Develop backup and recovery strategies based on SLA requirements - Monitor database growth and perform capacity planning - Administer complex ETL using SQL Server (SSIS) - Ensure High Availability solutions including replication and clustering - Design and document Disaster Recovery strategies for critical business servers - Participate in 24x7 support of production environments and mission-critical applications - Communicate and coordinate with other IT teams to resolve support and maintenance issues - Enforce best practices including performance, security, and monitoring policies Qualifications Required: - 7-10 years of experience in Cloud infrastructure and network engineering - Completed training and certifications in Azure, AWS, and GCP Associate level - 7 years of experience in developing, maintaining, and administering MS SQL Server databases - Experience with Oracle 9g/10g/11g/12c databases is a plus - Knowledge of SQL Server replication configuration - Strong experience in monitoring, management, capacity planning, and compaction strategy - Proficiency in database backup and recovery, connectivity and security, and role management - Goal-driven, highly motivated individual with strong customer service skills - Ability to work in a team environment with hands-on experience in Windows or Linux operating systems - Proficiency in Ansible and Terraform automation tools - Experience with DevOps practices and tools such as Jenkins, Git, Docker, and Kubernetes - Familiarity with AIOps platforms and observability tools like Splunk, Dynatrace, and AppDynamics - Excellent problem-solving and communication skills At Kyndryl, we value inclusivity and diversity, creating a sense of belonging that fuels great experiences for our employees and customers.
