Job Description: You are an experienced Senior MEP Design Engineer with 15+ years of expertise to lead the design, planning, and coordination of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for various projects. Your strong technical knowledge, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and deep understanding of MEP design standards, codes, and best practices will be crucial for this role. You will have the opportunity to work on large-scale, high-profile projects for India and abroad with a focus on the transportation sector. Key Responsibilities: - Lead the design of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for various types of buildings and infrastructure projects. - Ensure that designs meet client specifications, local building codes, and international standards (e.g., ASHRAE, NEC, Building Codes, IECs etc.). - Provide guidance on design processes and technical challenges. - Collaborate with project managers and other design professionals to define project requirements and ensure that design milestones are met. - Review and approve design drawings, calculations, and specifications. - Coordinate the integration of MEP systems with other architectural and structural disciplines. - Develop conceptual and detailed designs for HVAC, electrical, lighting, plumbing, fire protection, and other MEP systems. - Perform system load calculations, energy analysis, and ensure compliance with sustainability and energy efficiency standards. - Select equipment, materials, and systems, and prepare technical specifications and procurement packages. - Review vendor submittals and shop drawings for compliance with design documents. - Prepare and review technical reports, design calculations, and supporting documentation for regulatory approvals. - Identify opportunities for process improvements and lead initiatives to enhance design efficiency and quality. - Engage with clients to understand their needs and translate them into functional MEP designs. - Provide regular project updates to clients, addressing any concerns or changes in design scope. - Assist with procurement and tendering processes for MEP components, ensuring the best value for the client. - Get the designs approved from clients/consultants. Required Qualifications and Skills: - Education: Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Electrical. - Experience: 15 years of experience in MEP design, with at least 5 years in a senior or lead role. - Technical Skills: - Advanced knowledge of MEP design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, HAP, Dialux, etc.). - Expertise in designing HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, fire protection, and related MEP systems. - Strong understanding of local and international design codes and standards. - Experience with energy modeling and sustainable building design practices. - Project Management: Proven track record in managing complex projects from concept to completion, including budget and schedule management. - Leadership: Ability to manage and mentor a team of engineers and designers. - Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to liaise with clients, contractors, and team members effectively. - Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to provide innovative solutions to complex design challenges. - Attention to Detail: A high level of precision and care in the preparation of design documents and technical specifications.
