What you will be doing:

Schedule and coordinate commissioning work to tight deadlines.

Ensure that battery equipment works to its specification.

Create and carry out test procedures.

Investigate problems and diagnose and repair faults.

Be responsible for the commissioning phase of the project.

Develop relationships with the client to ensure a smooth delivery and handover.

Provide the project manager and supervisor with progress updates and raise concerns where necessary.

Ensure the commissioning is to the appropriate levels of quality and to standards and manufacturers' best practice.

Demonstrate leadership skills to positively influence others to achieve results that are in the best interest of the company.

Produce and review Method Statements and Risk Assessments for all commissioning-based activities.

Assist the production of commissioning plans, inspection test plans, and training manuals.

Co-ordinate with the systems integration team to carry out all Site Acceptance Tests.

Attend commissioning meetings with representatives from the client's engineering and operational teams.

Demonstrate commissioned plant to the client's representatives to gain plant sign-off prior to takeover.

Complete commissioning records and diaries, ensuring that all progress and equipment settings are recorded for the O&M manuals.

Assist the design team by undertaking site visits to gather information for the purposes of tendering or design prior to construction.

Identify and resolve design errors.

Provide administrative and technical support for field-related testing and commissioning activities.

Plan, perform, coordinate, and supervise on-site testing and commissioning activities as required by project scope.

Provide field engineering support to electricians in the wiring of substation protective relaying and control systems, verifying that wiring is fully complete per the design drawings.

Support several capital projects occurring at the same time, rotating amongst jobs, keeping abreast of construction activities, reviewing test results, and monitoring work to anticipate problems and gauge level of involvement from a technical support perspective.

What you'll need to be successful

  • Essential:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or another discipline related to Energy Storage Systems (ESS).

  • Must have basic Energy Storage System (ESS) knowledge.

  • Must understand how a battery system works and interacts with other equipment of an ESS.

  • Must be able to read engineering drawings and specifications to understand the purpose and functionality of the battery system.

  • Must understand various protection schemes for proper checkout techniques and/or for troubleshooting and correcting non-working schemes.

  • Demonstrated ability to apply engineering skills and operational knowledge in the identification and resolution of technical problems in the field during the installation and testing phases.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Commercial awareness.

  • Ability to work well under pressure.

  • Team working skills.

  • Fluency in Mandarin Chinese is required.

  • Ability to travel 50%-70%.
