About the role
Experienced Electronic Controls Engineer - Tuning and Test
Are you looking to work for a company that provides an innovative work environment, and your voice is heard? We have a position for an experienced engineer with software integration, tuning, testing, troubleshooting and software release. The engineer will assist with various phases of control system development. In this role, the engineer will interact with engine test cells and test benches to troubleshoot issues and tune features. This role collaborates with other teams.

What you will be doing:
Execute Controls VPI Checklist and Swim Lane
ECM, Sensors, Actuators, Software, Calibrations, Integration, Tuning, Testing, Releasing.
Lead Controls Coordination Meeting
Attend other relevant meetings
Provide Updates for Software Design Review Leader
Base Controls Calibration Integration, Tuning, and Validation
Coordinate and Integrate calibrations from Subsystem Teams
Coordinate with Test Team
Coordinate with Electronic Systems Integration Team to Release Software/Calibrations at E/D/L/P Phase.
Bench Testing
Digital, HIL, SIL
Test Cell Testing
Field Testing/Support
Provide Documentation
Architecture
Schedules
Test Plans
Generate Technical Reports
What you'll need to be successful
-
Essential:
-
College, university, or equivalent Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or other relevant technical disciplines.

Electronics OR controls background
-
Calibration
-
Excel data analysis
-
MATLAB Simulink and Simulink simulation
-
Calibration engineering tools like Calterm, Canape, etc.

Datalinks-CAN 1939
-
Fundamental understanding of the internal combustion engines and aftertreatment systems.
-
On the job engine testing, vehicle, or test cell experience with familiarity of data acquisition and instrumentation.

Strong background in engineering and a passion for problem-solving

Excellent analytical skills

4 plus years of experience

Humble, teachable, and who solve their own problems

Effective and collaborative team player

Good communicator written and verbal
-
MS office suit solid knowledge is required.

Preferred:
-
Experience in communicating and presenting technical content with external customers preferred.

Experience with different data processing tools for complex or large data sets (Matlab, concerto, excel, or similar).

Good understanding & experience with Datalink protocols such as J1939 and CANC communication networks
-
Ability to collect and analyze CAN Trace files
-
Working knowledge of CANalyzer or any similar data acquisition tools (Calterm, etc,.)
-
Awareness and knowledge of Windchill will be a plus for this role

Works well with customers and coordinates with internal teams
