Principal Embedded Software Engineer

What you will be doing:
Deliver innovative, flexible, and integrated solutions to meet automotive customers' changing requirements and business needs relating to AUTOSAR and CAN communications.
Coach and train entry-level Embedded Software Engineers.
Create process improvement and implementation plans.
Lead embedded software projects.
Mentor junior Embedded Software Engineers to solve complex problems.
Stay abreast of new technologies and competitor products.
Apply quality assurance techniques.
Compile data and define changes required in software and features.
Conduct software vulnerability assessment of systems.
Coordinate input from internal/external customers to understand needs and perceptions.
Perform root cause analysis, error correction, functional analysis, and risk analysis of system-level problems.
Represent the development team in multi-focused, cross-functional meetings across the organization to architect and implement complex solutions.
What you'll need to be successful

Essential:
-
Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer engineering, electronics engineering, electrical and computer engineering, or related field, plus 6 years of post-bachelor's progressive experience in engineering positions encompassing the skills listed below.

In lieu of the above: master's degree (or foreign equivalent) in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer engineering, electronics engineering, electrical and computer engineering, or related field, plus 4 years of experience in the skills listed below.

Experience implementing and verifying software pursuant to ISO 26262 safety standards.

Experience utilizing embedded C to implement AUTOSAR software architecture.

Configuration of AUTOSAR Stack using tools such as Vector DaVinci Configurator or AUTOSAR Builder.

Experience with communications protocols (CAN or LIN).

Experience with testing tools such as CANOE or CANalyzer.

Experience with embedded operating systems (OSEK or RTOS).

Experience debugging embedded software utilizing debuggers and emulators.

Knowledge of microcontrollers and their architecture.

Experience with version control and requirements management software (IBM RTC, Doors, SVN, Jama, GitLab, or ClearCase).

Telecommuting permitted 2 days per week; position is based in Columbus, Indiana, with work also performed at various unanticipated worksites throughout the U.S.
