Reliability Development Test Engineer

Are you looking to work for a company that provides an innovative work environment, and your voice is heard? We have a position for a Reliability Development Test Engineer to work onsite at our client in Raymond, OH (this is a direct hire position).

What you will be doing:

Validate vehicle, systems, and sub-systems to meet strength and durability targets with a goal of meeting or exceeding customer expectations.

Deliver sub-system or full vehicle computational and testing results at every stage of automotive development project(s).

Develop appropriate countermeasure plans when performance concerns arise during validation testing, and work closely with cross-functional departments for implementation.

Produce and analyze engineering data using pre-set tools, methods, and formats; involves working independently.

Plan, prepare, and coordinate various aspects of reliability tests and/or simulations, including arrangement of facilities, requesting support, and acquiring necessary parts and materials.

Physically support tests, including confirmation that test setups are correct and that test plans are understood and executed to intent.

Prepare moderately complex documentation for review by technical leadership to record and submit all necessary development, testing, and research information per the determined schedule.

Help coordinate and execute root cause analysis, countermeasure activities, and improvement initiatives to technical leadership.

What you'll need to be successful

  • Essential:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

  • Minimum 1 year of engineering experience, including co-op/internship or equivalent.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • Ability to effectively communicate complex ideas and concerns.

  • Preferred:

  • Experience in data analysis and communication of complex information to engineering management.

  • Experience with 3D CAD surface modeling software such as CATIA or SolidWorks.

  • Experience with data acquisition software.

  • Experience with FEA software such as Abaqus, Nastran, Hypermesh, Ansa, Meta, or LS-DYNA.

  • Scripting experience in Java, Python, or MATLAB.
