Embedded Firmware Engineer Smart Energy Meter

Position : Embedded Firmware Engineer Smart Energy Meter. Experience : 510 Years Reporting to : Team Lead R&D (Firmware). Job Responsibilities: Candidate will be responsible for developing Firmwarefor Embedded systems,also includes writing code, debugging and maintenance. Hands on experience in microcontrollers based designs Domain Knowledge. Implementationof user requirements. Implementing the full DLMS/COSEM protocol stack (Physical layer to Application layer) within the meter's firmware to handle communication procedures. Mapping all meter functionalities and data items (e.g., instantaneous values, load profiles, events, billing parameters) to the standardized COSEM interface classes and unique OBIS (Object Identification System) codes. Integrate and manage cellular & RF communication modules: CAT-M1 / NB-IoT, 4G / 5G, LoRa / LoRaWAN, BLE, Zigbee, Wi-Fi Handle UART / SPI / I2C / USB interfaces. Implement and maintain communication protocols, DLMS/COSEM (mandatory for smart meters), TCP/IP, UDP, MQTT / MQTT-SN, CoAP / HTTP / HTTPS Desired Functional Knowledge & Skills: Strong experience in controller-based designs with proficiency in C and Assembly, and hands-on work with peripherals like ADC, UART, SPI, and I2C. Expertise in wireless technologies including 4G/5G, NB-IoT, BLE, Zigbee, Wi-Fi, LoRa/LoRaWAN, and IoT protocols such as MQTT, CoAP, and TCP/IP. Experience in FOTA implementation, RTOS development, and strong debugging and problem-solving capabilities. Good understanding of user requirements, project lifecycle management, and compliance documentation (CMMI/ISO). Hands-on experience with hardware testing tools like Oscilloscope, Multimeter, LCR meter, Function Generator, and soldering tools.
