About the role
JD for SRE (Site Reliability Engineer) Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to drive continuous service improvement (CSI), patch automation, process automation, and event-driven automation in Microsoft Azure environments. This role focuses on enhancing operational efficiency through automation, ensuring system reliability, and proactively managing cloud infrastructure. Candidate should have strong background in cloud platform management, observability, and automation-driven operations. Key Responsibilities: 1. Patch Automation & Cloud Operations Implement and manage automated patching solutions for cloud-based infrastructure. Define and enhance patching policies and governance to minimize downtime. Ensure compliance with security standards through automated vulnerability remediation. 2. Process Automation & Continuous Service Improvement (CSI) Automate infrastructure management processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual tasks. Implement self-healing mechanisms for operational resilience. Analyze incidents and problems to drive proactive automation solutions. Develop runbooks and playbooks to standardize and automate operations. 3. Event-Driven Automation via Azure Monitor Design and implement event-driven automation using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Azure Functions. Configure alerting and auto-remediation workflows to ensure high availability. 4. Observability & Incident Management Deploy and optimize observability tools like Azure Monitor, Application Insights Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement automation-based preventive measures. Qualifications & Skills: 3-8 years of experience in site reliability engineering, cloud operations, or automation with Azure. Strong expertise in Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and event-driven automation. Experience in patch management automation across cloud workloads. Hands-on experience with Azure Policy, Azure Automation, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools. Deep understanding of incident, problem, and change management processes (ITIL framework). Familiarity with Azure Functions, Logic Apps, and Automation Runbooks for operational automation.
