Job Overview LPL Financial is seeking an Assistant Vice President, Tech Data Analyst / Data Modeler in our Enterprise Data Modeling team within the Data & Analytics organization. This role is ideal for an experienced technical leader with deep expertise in enterprise data modeling and data analysis function, cloud-native architecture, and enterprise data engineering. You will be responsible for contributing the data strategy, design, and delivery of scalable, secure, and high-quality party data solutions that support critical business functions including client onboarding, account life cycle management, KYC/AML, regulatory reporting, and operational efficiency. Responsibilities Data Modeling & Design: Lead the design, review, and optimization of enterprise logical and physical data models, ensuring alignment with business requirements, data architecture standards, and longterm strategy. Translate complex business, regulatory, and analytical requirements into wellstructured data models that support operational and analytical use cases. Define and enforce data modeling standards, naming conventions, and best practices to minimize data redundancy and ensure consistent enterprise semantics. Perform reverse engineering of existing databases and SQL artifacts to document, rationalize, and modernize data models.Data Analysis & Domain Expertise: Develop deep domain knowledge across client, account, asset, transaction, and advisor data domains. Analyze data patterns, gaps, and anomalies to support business decisionmaking and data quality initiatives. Partner with business and data analysts to ensure accurate interpretation of data requirements and business intent.Governance, Metadata & Quality: Actively support data governance initiatives, including: Business Glossary and semantic definition development, Data dictionaries for logical and physical models, Data lineage and impact analysis, Reference and master data modeling. Contribute to data profiling and data quality assessments using cloudenabled and enterprise data tools. Ensure regulatory, supervisory, and audit considerations are incorporated into data design.Collaboration & Delivery: Collaborate with data architects, solution architects, engineers, DBAs, and product teams to ensure data models are implementable and aligned with the enterprise data roadmap. Participate in Agile delivery processes, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, and design reviews. Provide technical guidance and design mentorship to junior data analysts and modelers. Support evaluation and adoption of new tools, techniques, and platforms to improve enterprise data management capabilities. Requirements Bachelors degree in a related field (advanced degree preferred).10+ years of experience in data analysis, data modeling, data architecture, or data governance roles.8+ years of handson experience with: Enterprise data modeling tools (e.g., Erwin or similar), SQL and relational database concepts, Logical, physical, and dimensional (star/snowflake) modelingAbility to translate complex data concepts into clear business value, and vice versa.Experience working in financial services, fintech, wealth management, or highly regulated industries.
