About the role
As a Senior Database Engineer in the Global Loans domain, you will be responsible for driving the design and delivery of the LoanIQ database implementation. Your role involves leading the technical implementation, mentoring other developers, and utilizing modern AI-assisted development tools and cloud-native patterns to enhance productivity, code quality, scalability, and delivery speed. Additionally, you will be leading the design and delivery of in-house database development supporting integration with upstream and downstream systems. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to integrate, manage, and optimize database systems, ensuring high-quality data solutions that align with strategic business goals and technical roadmap. Responsibilities: - Design and deliver complex database implementation projects to support the implementation of the vendor product, LoanIQ. - Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects for Azure SQL environments. - Collaborate with business analysts, data architects, and developers to translate business requirements into effective, scalable database solutions. - Ensure database performance, reliability, and scalability through rigorous optimization, monitoring, and troubleshooting. - Implement and maintain data integration strategies, including ETL processes, to support Global Loan products and operations. - Maintain comprehensive documentation of database designs, migration processes, and changes to ensure transparency and compliance. - Utilize AI-assisted development tools to accelerate code, test, and debug workflows. - Promote AI-based engineering practices and cloud best practices within the team. Qualifications Required: - 8+ years of hands-on experience with, and in-depth knowledge of, Azure SQL. - Strong hands-on experience with Azure cloud services, including Azure SQL Database and related tools. - Demonstrated ability to develop complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions. - Experience with data integration, ETL tools, and methodologies. - Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen ability to troubleshoot and resolve database issues.
