Job Description AVP Projects & Engineering Position Overview We are seeking an experienced AVP Projects & Engineering to lead engineering, project execution, and asset reliability functions for large-scale bulk material handling operations. The role is responsible for managing the complete lifecycle of engineering projects from planning and execution to commissioning and maintenance while ensuring operational excellence, safety, cost optimization, and equipment reliability. Key Responsibilities Project Management Lead end-to-end execution of engineering projects including planning, scheduling, erection, testing, commissioning, and project handover. Ensure projects are completed within defined timelines, budgets, and quality standards. Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies. Coordinate with internal stakeholders, consultants, contractors, and vendors for seamless project execution. Engineering & Maintenance Drive preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance strategies to maximize equipment availability and reliability. Develop and implement maintenance planning systems to improve asset performance. Ensure efficient lifecycle management of critical engineering assets. Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for equipment failures. Technical Leadership Provide technical expertise in: Conveyor Systems Ship Unloaders (SUL) Ship Loaders Barge Loaders Bulk Material Handling Systems Port Mechanical & Electrical Equipment Support engineering improvements, modernization initiatives, and process optimization. Vendor & Contractor Management Develop and evaluate vendors for engineering and maintenance requirements. Lead commercial negotiations and contractor performance management. Coordinate procurement activities for engineering projects and maintenance requirements. Ensure contractor compliance with quality, safety, and contractual obligations. Budget & Commercial Management Prepare and monitor CAPEX and OPEX budgets. Optimize maintenance and project costs without compromising safety or reliability. Track project expenditures and recommend cost-saving initiatives. Leadership & Stakeholder Management Lead cross-functional engineering and project teams. Mentor and develop engineering professionals. Collaborate with operations, procurement, finance, and external stakeholders to achieve business objectives. Safety & Compliance Ensure adherence to statutory regulations, engineering standards, and safety guidelines. Promote a strong safety culture across projects and maintenance activities. Ensure compliance with environmental, quality, and operational standards. Required Experience Extensive experience in Project Management, Erection, Testing, Commissioning, Maintenance, and Asset Reliability . Proven leadership experience in heading Engineering and Projects functions. Strong exposure to bulk material handling systems and port engineering operations. Experience managing large engineering teams, contractors, and multiple stakeholders.
