About the role
As a Vehicle Integration Engineer, you will play a crucial role in performing various integration activities to support the development and assembly of vehicles. Your responsibilities will include: - Performing integration checks for vehicle assembly - Preparing DFA (Design for Assembly) and DMU (Digital Mock-Up) documents - Conducting tolerance stack-up analysis and GD&T activities for complete vehicle assembly - Resolving assembly-level issues during 2W vehicle development - Integrating newly added components into the vehicle architecture - Maintaining vehicle-level CAD data and assemblies - Preparing AIS drawings for homologation requirements - Creating and maintaining assembly sequence documentation - Assisting in the preparation of PFD, PFMEA, and Control Plan documentation - Managing and maintaining vehicle BOMs - Creating and maintaining design release data packs for component procurement and vehicle builds - Supporting initial mule builds and prototype development activities - Designing and developing enclosures for electrical peripheral items - Designing and developing vehicle harnesses - Integrating harnesses and electrical peripherals into vehicle systems - Resolving vendor technical queries and recommending engineering improvements - Supporting the achievement of program targets related to product performance, schedule, PPAP, and quality - Supporting cost reduction and warranty improvement initiatives - Preparing technical reports and presentations for customers and internal stakeholders - Working effectively with cross-functional teams and ensuring compliance with established product development processes - Solving technical problems and providing reliable, cost-effective, and user-friendly design solutions - Evaluating alternate design concepts and manufacturing processes - Defining and executing design verification plans - Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements at component, system, and vehicle levels - Participating in APQP meetings with suppliers and cross-functional teams Qualifications required for this role include: - B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline - 5+ years of experience, preferably in the Electric Vehicle / Automotive industry Your skills and competencies should include proficiency in: - Vehicle Integration - CAD and Vehicle-Level Packaging - DMU & DFA - GD&T and Tolerance Stack-Up Analysis - BOM Management - Design Release Process - Harness & Electrical Integration - APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plan Documentation - Homologation Documentation (AIS) - Problem Solving & Root Cause Analysis - Cross-Functional Coordination Your personal attributes should include: - Design Thinking - Research & Development Mindset - Teamwork & Collaboration - Strong Analytical Skills If you have a minimum of 5 years of experience and a preference for the Electric Vehicle / Automotive industry, this position in Bangalore could be an excellent fit for you.
