About the role
Role & responsibilities Conduct hydrological and hydraulic studies for projects such as highways, bridges, urban drainage systems, and river engineering Perform rainfall-runoff modeling, watershed analysis, and flood estimation Develop and calibrate models using tools such as HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, SWMM, or MIKE suite Support floodplain mapping, stormwater design, and drainage planning Analyze rainfall, streamflow, and other hydrometeorological data Ensure compliance with applicable standards (e.g., BIS, IRC, MoRTH, World Bank/ADB guidelines where applicable) Prepare technical reports, design calculations, and documentation Coordinate with civil, environmental, and GIS teams Assist in proposal preparation and technical submissions Provide guidance to junior engineers and modelers
